Miles Overview
The 2021 CX-30 is Mazda's subcompact crossover, slotting between the CX-3 and CX-5 with a more premium feel than most rivals. It competes with the Honda HR-V, Toyota C-HR, and Subaru Crosstrek, but brings a more upscale interior and sharper driving dynamics. The CX-30 handles with a composure that's rare in this class, with precise steering and a firm, controlled ride. Inside, the cabin is trimmed with quality materials and features a clean, driver-focused layout, though rear legroom is tight. Standard tech includes an 8.8-inch display with Mazda's rotary controller, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on most trims. The Select is the trim that gets you the 8.8-inch display and Apple CarPlay, plus blind-spot monitoring that the base CX-30 lacks. Its 2.5L I4 makes 186 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic that's smooth but can feel busy on hills, returning 28 mpg combined.
