Miles Overview
The 2021 CX-30 is Mazda's subcompact crossover, slotting between the CX-3 and CX-5 with a more premium feel than most rivals. It competes with the Honda HR-V, Toyota C-HR, and Subaru Crosstrek, but brings a more upscale interior and sharper driving dynamics. The CX-30 handles with a composure that's rare in this class, with precise steering and a firm, controlled ride. Inside, the cabin is trimmed with quality materials and features a clean, driver-focused layout, though rear legroom is tight. Standard tech includes an 8.8-inch display with Mazda's rotary controller, plus Apple CarPlay and Android Auto on most trims. The CX- trim adds a power driver's seat and dual-zone automatic climate control over the Select, while skipping the Premium's Bose audio and sunroof. Its 2.5L I4 makes 186 horsepower and pairs with an automatic transmission driving the front wheels, which keeps weight down and returns good fuel economy around town. With front-wheel drive, this CX-30 is lighter on its feet than the AWD versions, though you'll want all-season tires if you face snow.
