The 2016 MKZ is Lincoln's mid-size sedan, a cushioned alternative to the German and Japanese luxury entries of its day. It's a smooth, quiet cruiser that wafts down the road, though it's not particularly eager when you push it. The cabin looks sharp with its push-button gear selector, but some plastics feel less premium than the price suggests. Back-seat headroom is tight for taller passengers, and the trunk is a bit small for the class. The Black Label trim steps up from the Base with upgraded leather, unique stitching, and a longer list of standard equipment for a more premium feel. Its 3.7L V6 makes 300 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic, giving the MKZ strong highway passing power and an EPA-rated 26 mpg combined. Black Label models can be ordered with a sunroof, navigation, and a premium audio system, but the front-drive layout means you won't get the all-weather traction of the optional all-wheel-drive cars.
