Miles Overview
It drives like a big, heavy luxury truck, with a commanding view and a ride that soaks up bumps well, though it's not sporty. Inside, you get a roomy, leather-lined cabin with real wood trim, and the midgate lets you expand cargo space by folding the rear seats. The EXT's short bed and midgate make it more versatile than a standard SUV, but the bed is shorter than a regular pickup's. The EXT is the only Escalade trim for 2005, a luxury SUV with a short pickup bed and the midgate for extra versatility. Its 6.0L V8 makes 345 horsepower and 380 lb-ft of torque, routed through a four-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, which means smooth power but 13 mpg combined. The midgate is unique to the EXT, letting you fold the rear seats and open the bed into the cabin for long cargo.
