Miles Overview
The 2017 Sierra 1500 is GMC's full-size pickup, slotting above the Canyon and below the heavy-duty Sierra HD. It squares off against the Ford F-150, Ram 1500, and Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The Sierra rides smoothly for a full-size truck, and its steering is more precise than you might expect. The cabin is roomy and quiet, with an available upscale interior in higher trims and a useful bed and towing package. It's the base trim below the SLT and Denali, so you get the essentials without the leather and extra tech those trims add. The SLE is the entry point to the Sierra lineup, and this one pairs the 5.3L V8 with rear-wheel drive for a straightforward, capable full-size truck. With the 5.3L V8 and rear-wheel drive, expect strong pulling power and a ride that's a bit firmer than the Denali's air suspension.
