Miles Overview
The 2011 Avalanche is Chevrolet's full-size SUV with a pickup-style bed, a unique body style that blends crew cab comfort with truck utility. It drives smoothly for a truck its size, and the steering is responsive enough that it maneuvers surprisingly well in tight spots. Inside, the cabin is roomy and quiet, with the midgate folding down to open up the bed for long items while keeping them protected. Some owners mention the plastic bed covers fade over time and a few have seen transmission issues after high mileage, so keep up with maintenance. The LS is the base trim, so you skip the LT's and LTZ's extra chrome and convenience features, but you still get the same capable truck underneath. It's powered by a 5.3L V8 with an automatic transmission and four-wheel drive, good for 17 mpg combined. The LS's simpler cabin means cloth seats and manual adjustments, which keeps the price down without sacrificing the Avalanche's utility.
