Miles Overview
The 2025 Ford Maverick is a compact pickup that brings truck capability to a smaller, more city-friendly footprint than the F-150. It goes up against the Hyundai Santa Cruz, which is its only direct compact truck rival in the U.S. market. The turbocharged engine gives the Maverick a lively, responsive feel, while the hybrid prioritizes efficiency without feeling sluggish. Ride quality is composed for a truck, though the rear leaf springs can feel firm over sharp bumps when the bed is empty. The bed is large enough for weekend hauling, and the cabin offers clever storage and a versatile interior for its size. The XL is the base Maverick, but it still comes with the hybrid powertrain standard and a 13.2-inch SYNC 4 touchscreen. This one pairs the hybrid 2.0L I4 with all-wheel drive, so you get the traction of all-wheel drive and 38 mpg combined.
