Miles Overview
The 2026 Ford Maverick is a compact pickup that brings genuine truck capability to a smaller, more affordable package. It goes up against the Hyundai Santa Cruz and the Honda Ridgeline, though the Maverick is smaller and more budget-friendly. The turbo engine gives the Maverick lively acceleration, while the hybrid prioritizes efficiency without feeling sluggish around town. The ride is composed for a truck, though the rear leaf springs can feel firm over sharp bumps when the bed is empty. The bed is wide enough for plywood, and the available FlexBed system offers clever tie-downs and dividers for securing gear. The XL is the base Maverick, skipping the XLT's extra chrome and power-adjustable driver seat but keeping the same core truck bones.
