2016 Ford Fusion SE

The 2016 Fusion is Ford's midsize sedan, offered as a conventional gas model, a hybrid, and a plug-in hybrid. It competes with the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, and Nissan Altima, but adds available all-wheel drive. The Fusion drives with a composed, planted feel, and the steering is nicely weighted for a family sedan. The ride is smooth and quiet, with little road or engine noise intruding into the cabin. Inside, the Fusion offers a spacious back seat and a large trunk, with well-trimmed materials for the class. Ford's SYNC system provides hands-free calling and voice control, and a touchscreen is available on higher trims. Reliability is generally good, though some owners have reported transmission quirks and a steering column recall. The SE is the volume trim, adding the SYNC infotainment system, a 10-way power driver's seat, and 17-inch aluminum wheels over the base S. Its 2.5L I4 makes 175 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic, returning 26 mpg combined in mixed driving.
