Miles Overview
This is Dodge's heavy-duty pickup, the one built to haul and tow when a half-ton just won't cut it. It drives like the big truck it is, with a commanding view and a ride that settles down once you've got weight in the bed. Inside, the cabin is straightforward and roomy, with plenty of space for three adults and controls that are easy to use. Reliability is typical for a heavy-duty truck of this era: the drivetrain is stout, but watch for rust on the body and the usual electrical quirks. Stepping up from the ST or SLT to the Laramie gets you a much more comfortable interior with upgraded upholstery and power-adjustable seats, plus the convenience of keyless entry and cruise control. The 5.9L I6 under the hood is a workhorse inline-six that pulls hard from low rpm, and with four-wheel drive you get traction on slippery job sites or boat ramps. The Laramie's available leather-wrapped steering wheel and premium sound system make long towing days a lot more pleasant.
