Miles Overview
The HR-V is Honda's smallest SUV, a subcompact that fits neatly between the Fit and the CR-V in size and price. Around town it feels light and nimble, though the engine needs revs to get going and gets vocal when you push it. The cabin is roomier than the exterior suggests, with a clever rear seat that folds flat to swallow tall cargo. Owners report few major issues, though a few have noted door weather stripping that can come loose over time. The LX is the base HR-V, so you skip the Sport's styling touches and the EX's upgraded infotainment screen, but you save thousands and get the same capable all-wheel drive. The 1.8L I4 makes 141 horsepower and pairs with a automatic transmission, which means you'll wind it out to keep pace on the highway, but it returns a solid 29 mpg combined.
