Miles Overview
The HR-V is Honda's smallest SUV, a subcompact that fits neatly between the Fit and the CR-V in size and price. Around town it feels light and nimble, though the engine needs revs to get going and gets vocal when you push it. The cabin is roomier than the exterior suggests, with a clever rear seat that folds flat to swallow tall cargo. Owners report few major issues, though a few have noted door weather stripping that can come loose over time. Cloth seats and a simpler infotainment screen mark the LX as the entry-level trim, leaving the Sport and EX to add style and convenience features. Its 1.8L I4 makes 141 horsepower and pairs with a automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, which feels eager around town but needs a heavy foot to merge onto the highway. The LX rides on 16-inch steel wheels with plastic covers, a honest trade for the lower starting price that keeps the ride compliant on rough pavement.
