Miles Overview
The Ram 5500 is a heavy-duty chassis-cab truck built for commercial work, not a pickup you'd use as a daily driver. With a massive payload and towing capacity, the 5500 handles heavy equipment and large trailers without breaking a sweat. The Tradesman trim keeps the cabin simple and durable, with vinyl floors and cloth seats that are easy to clean after a job site day. Running costs are high due to the diesel engine's maintenance and fuel consumption, but the 5500 is built to earn its keep. The Tradesman is the base work-spec trim, so you get a no-frills cabin and mechanical simplicity instead of the leather and tech of the Laramie or Limited. The 6.7L I6 diesel and automatic transmission make this a towing monster, with the all-wheel drive giving you traction on muddy job sites. The Tradesman comes with vinyl floors and cloth seats that clean up fast, and the dashboard pass-through wires make upfitting a work body straightforward.
