Miles Overview
The Ram 5500 is the heavy-duty workhorse of the lineup, built for serious towing and payload duties. Despite its size, the 5500 handles its weight well, with a commanding view of the road and predictable steering. The cabin is functional and roomy, with durable materials that hold up to daily worksite abuse. With a range of cab and bed configurations, the 5500 can be tailored to fit most commercial needs. The 5500 is the chassis-cab work truck, so you give up the 3500's pickup bed for a bare frame that's ready for a utility body or flatbed. Its 6.7L I6 makes 360 horsepower and pairs with an automatic transmission, giving you the low-end grunt to haul heavy loads without revving hard. The all-wheel drive helps when you're pulling a trailer up a muddy ramp, though the ride is stiff when the bed is empty.
