Miles Overview
The 2016 Ram 1500 is a full-size half-ton pickup that squares off against the Ford F-150, Chevrolet Silverado, and Toyota Tundra. On the road, the Ram 1500 feels composed and stable, with steering that is accurate for a truck of its size. The available air suspension delivers a remarkably smooth ride, soaking up bumps that would jolt other pickups. Inside, the cabin is spacious and quiet, with available leather upholstery and a large touchscreen that make it feel more upscale than its price suggests. The Tradesman is the base work-truck trim, skipping the chrome and leather of the Laramie or Longhorn to keep the price down. Under the hood is a 5.7L I8 paired with two-wheel drive, giving you strong pulling power off the line even without the optional 4x4 system.
