Miles Overview
The Journey is Dodge's three-row crossover, a budget-friendly pick for families who need extra seating without the size of a full SUV. It rides smoothly on the highway and handles turns with confidence, though the base engine feels a bit strained on steep hills. Inside, you get a roomy cabin with handy touches like hidden storage under the floor and available built-in coolers in the second row. Owners report few major issues, though some mention a slight transmission slip and a clunking sound on acceleration from a stop. The SE is the Journey's value pick, skipping the Crossroad's styling upgrades to keep the price low while offering the same available 3.6L V6. With the 3.6L V6 and four-speed automatic, the SE hustles around town with authority, though the old four-speed feels dated on the highway and the EPA rates it at 19 mpg combined. The SE's standard seven-passenger seating is a rarity at this price point, making it a smart choice for larger families on a budget.
