Miles Overview
The Routan is Volkswagen's take on the minivan, sharing its bones with the Chrysler Town & Country. It drives like a big comfortable cruiser, with a smooth ride that soaks up highway miles easily. Inside, you get seven seats, plenty of cubbies, and available dual DVD screens to keep the kids entertained. Some owners have dealt with tire pressure monitor failures that can cause flats, so it's worth checking those sensors. If you want the upgraded look without going over the top, the SEL adds chrome trim and nicer cloth upholstery over the SE. It uses the same 3.6L V6 as the SE, making 283 horsepower through a six-speed automatic, and returns 20 mpg combined. The SEL opens up optional power sliding doors and a power liftgate, which the SE doesn't offer.
