Miles Overview
The Routan is Volkswagen's minivan, essentially a rebadged Chrysler Town & Country with a VW grille and interior tweaks. Inside, you get a roomy cabin with three rows of seats, plenty of storage cubbies, and available dual-screen DVD entertainment for the kids. Some owners report trouble with the tire pressure monitors corroding and causing flats, plus a few other mechanical issues. Standard power sliding doors and a third-row that folds flat set the SE apart from the base model below it. The 3.8L V6 makes 197 horsepower and works with a six-speed automatic to move this minivan smoothly, though it's not quick; expect 18 mpg combined.
