Miles Overview
The 1989 Wrangler is Jeep's classic off-road icon, the one you buy when you want to go anywhere without worrying about pavement. It's slow and loud, but the 4x4 system is unstoppable in mud, snow, or rocks, and the simple suspension takes bumps without breaking. The cabin is basic and noisy, with a soft top that can leak and zippers that wear out, but you can take the top off entirely for open-air fun. Owners say it's easy to fix with cheap parts, though quirks like carburetor issues on early models and rust-prone frames are common headaches. The Laredo sits above the base Sahara with more standard comfort features, but both share the same rugged 4x4 bones.
