Miles Overview
The Pilot is Honda's three-row family SUV, sized to take on the Toyota Highlander and Ford Explorer. It drives with a composed, predictable feel, and the steering is light enough for easy parking. The third row folds completely flat, and you can fold one section while leaving the other upright. Owners love the roomy interior, the easy-to-clean surfaces, and how well it handles all-weather driving. The LX is the base Pilot, so you get Honda's capable 4WD system and the same 3.5L V6 as the EX and EX-L, but cloth seats and a simpler stereo keep the price down. Its 3.5L V6 makes 244 horsepower and shifts through a five-speed automatic, which is smooth and well-matched for highway cruising or light off-road use, though you'll see 17 mpg combined around town.
