Miles Overview
The 2004 Civic is Honda's compact car, sold as a sedan, coupe, or hatchback, and it's the model most people cross-shop against the Corolla and the Focus. It's a light, nimble car that's easy to place in traffic, and the steering is quick enough that you'll enjoy taking it on back roads. The ride is on the firm side, which is the trade for how well it corners, and the front seats are fine for short trips but get tiring on long hauls. The cabin is roomy up front for a small car, though the backseat is tight, especially in the coupe, and the trunk is decent for the class. The VP trim adds air conditioning and a CD player over the base Civic, while skipping the EX's alloy wheels and power moonroof. Its 1.7L I4 makes 115 horsepower and pairs with a four-speed automatic, which is smooth around town but feels strained on highway grades.
