Miles Overview
The Terrain is GMC's compact SUV, the one you'll cross-shop with the Ford Escape and Honda CR-V. It rides smoothly and quietly, and the cabin stays hushed even at highway speeds, which makes long trips easy. The rear seats slide fore and aft and fold flat, so you can fit a surprising amount of gear in the back. Owners mention the lack of rear air vents, which can leave back-seat passengers warm in summer and cold in winter. The SLT is the luxury pick of the Terrain lineup, adding leather and heated front seats over the SLE trims. The 2.4L I4 pairs with a six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive for 182 horsepower, and GMC rates it at 23 mpg combined. The SLT also offers a power moonroof and remote start as options, though you'll miss rear air vents on long summer drives.
