The SLE-1 is the base trim, so you skip leather and the upgraded stereo that come on the SLT-1, but you still get the same 2.4L engine and a lower starting price. This SLE-1 has the 2.4L I4 with 182 horsepower, paired to a six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, which is enough for daily driving but feels sluggish when you need to merge quickly. Expect the ride to be on the firm side, which is the trade-off for the truck-like stability that this generation of Terrain is known for.
