Miles Overview
The 2000 Silverado 1500 is Chevrolet's full-size half-ton pickup, the one that went up against Ford's F-150 and Dodge's Ram. It rides like a proper truck, with a firm, trucky feel that's fine for hauling but not what you'd call plush. The cabin is straightforward and roomy, with simple controls and plenty of space for three adults up front. You can get it as a regular cab, extended cab, or crew cab, with either a short or long bed depending on the configuration. If you want a half-ton without paying for the top trim, the LS is the middle choice below the LT. The 4.8L V8 and automatic transmission make it feel responsive around town, and it's rated at 16 mpg combined.
