Miles Overview
The Impala is Chevrolet's full-size sedan for 2006, a roomy front-driver that competes with the Toyota Avalon and Ford Five Hundred. It's a smooth, quiet cruiser that eats up highway miles, and the steering is light and easy around town. The cabin is genuinely spacious with a huge trunk, and the seats are comfortable for long trips, though the interior plastics feel a bit cheap. Some owners report the security system occasionally prevents the car from starting for several minutes, a known quirk of this generation. The LS is the base Impala, sharing its 3.5L V6 with the LT but skipping some of that trim's convenience features. Its 3.5L V6 makes 211 horsepower and pairs with a four-speed automatic, delivering smooth, adequate power for daily driving and 22 mpg combined.
