Miles Overview
The 2000 Camaro is Chevrolet's rear-drive pony car, offered as a coupe or convertible, and it's the one to cross-shop with the Mustang and Firebird. The cabin is snug, with a tiny back seat that's really only for kids or cargo, but the front buckets are supportive and the wide windows give you great visibility. Owners report the alternator and window motors tend to fail over time, and the paint can peel on the hood and roof, so check those areas on a used example. The Z28 convertible gives you the 5.7L V8 and a power-folding top, while the base Camaro stick with the V6 and a fixed roof. Its 5.7L V8 makes 305 horsepower and 335 lb-ft of torque, routed through rear-wheel drive, and you'll average 18 mpg combined.
