Miles Overview
The Edge is Ford's five-seat midsize crossover, a step up from the Escape and a common pick for families who want more room without moving to a three-row SUV. It drives with a planted, confident feel, and the steering is nicely weighted, so it's easy to place on the road. The ride is smooth and well controlled, and the front seats are supportive, which makes long trips easy. Inside, there's generous space for four adults, and the rear seat fits three car seats across without a fight. The 2.7L V6 makes 315 horsepower and 350 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic and all-wheel drive, and it's good for 20 mpg combined. The Sport's firmer suspension and quicker steering give it a more athletic feel than other Edges, though the ride is stiffer over rough pavement.
