Miles Overview
The 2014 Edge is Ford's mid-size crossover, a five-seater that sits between the Escape and Explorer in size. It drives smoothly and quietly, with a comfortable ride that soaks up bumps well, though the base engine feels a bit sluggish when you need to merge. The cabin is roomy for both rows, and the rear hatch opens to a generous cargo area that easily swallows bikes or luggage. SYNC with voice control and a backup camera come standard, but the system can be glitchy and occasionally needs a reset. The 3.7L V6 and six-speed automatic work well together, giving you strong passing power, though the trade-off is 19 mpg combined.
