Miles Overview
The 2012 Routan is Volkswagen's take on a family minivan, sharing its bones with the Chrysler Town & Country. It drives smoothly and quietly, with a comfortable ride that makes long trips easy on everyone. Some owners mention tire pressure monitors corroding and causing flats, so it's worth checking those stems. Stepping up to the SE from the base model adds power-sliding doors, tri-zone climate control, and a six-speaker sound system that make family duty easier. Its 3.6L V6 makes 283 horsepower and pairs with a six-speed automatic, giving it enough grunt to merge onto highways without drama while returning 20 mpg combined. The SE rides on seventeen-inch alloy wheels and includes a rearview camera, which helps a lot when parking this 4,595 pounds minivan.
