Miles Overview
The 2012 Charger is Dodge's full-size sedan, a four-door with a bold, aggressive look that stands apart from more conservative rivals like the Toyota Avalon and Ford Taurus. Drivers consistently praise the Charger's strong acceleration and confident handling, though the heavy body means it's not as nimble as lighter sport sedans. Inside, the Charger offers a spacious cabin with a user-friendly touchscreen that controls climate, audio, and available navigation, but the rear seat can feel a bit tight for tall passengers. Reliability is a mixed bag: many owners enjoy trouble-free miles, but others report issues like failing alternators, cracked leather, and occasional electrical gremlins, so a thorough inspection is wise. The SE is the starting point for the Charger, with a cloth interior and steel wheels, but it shares the same 3.6L V6 and five-speed automatic as the SXT. Its 3.6L V6 makes 292 horsepower and routes it to the rear wheels through a five-speed automatic, which gives it punchy acceleration off the line but returns 21 mpg combined. If you want all-weather traction, you'll need to step up to an SXT with AWD, because the SE is rear-wheel drive only.
