Miles Overview
The 2015 Passat is VW's mid-size sedan, the one that gives you a big back seat and trunk without moving up to a full-size car. On the road it feels planted and stable, and the steering is smooth and direct, making highway miles easy. The ride is comfortable and quiet, and the front seats have good lumbar support, which helps on long trips. Inside, the cabin is roomy, with a spacious back seat and a large trunk, though the front seats could be a bit wider. The TDI SEL Premium is the diesel choice for the Passat, giving you the same generous rear legroom as the gas SEL Premium but with a different engine character. Its 2.0L I4 makes 150 horsepower and 236 lb-ft of torque, and the six-speed automatic keeps it in the sweet spot for effortless highway cruising at 44 mpg highway. This trim adds leather upholstery and a sunroof, and the diesel's long range means fewer stops on road trips.
