Miles Overview
The 2016 Passat is Volkswagen's mid-size sedan, a roomy family hauler that goes up against the Camry and Accord. It rides smoothly and feels planted on the highway, with a quiet cabin that makes long trips easy. The interior is genuinely spacious, with a huge trunk and plenty of legroom for rear passengers. Owners often mention the comfortable seats and the roomy back seat, which make it a favorite for road trips. The SE adds niceties like a larger touchscreen and keyless entry over the base S, while skipping the SEL's leather and navigation. Under the hood is a 1.8L I4 making 170 horsepower and 184 lb-ft of torque, paired with a six-speed automatic and front-wheel drive; it returns 29 mpg combined.
