Miles Overview
The 2016 Passat is Volkswagen's mid-size sedan, a roomy family hauler that goes up against the Camry and Accord. It rides smoothly and feels planted on the highway, with a quiet cabin that makes long trips easy. The interior is genuinely spacious, with a huge trunk and plenty of legroom for rear passengers. Owners often mention the comfortable seats and the roomy back seat, which make it a favorite for road trips. The S is the base Passat, so you skip some creature comforts found on the SE and SEL, but you get the same roomy cabin and driving feel for thousands less. Its 1.8L I4 makes 170 horsepower and pairs with the six-speed automatic, giving you willing acceleration and an EPA-rated 29 mpg combined.
