Miles Overview
The Frontier is Nissan's mid-size pickup, competing with the Toyota Tacoma and Ford Ranger. It drives with a sturdy feel and plenty of power, though the turning radius is wide and the ride can be a bit choppy on rough roads. The cabin is roomy up front, but the rear seat is tight, especially in the King Cab, and some interior plastics feel cheap. Owners report the Frontier as durable and long-lasting, with only minor issues like squeaky clutches and rattling heat shields. The SE is the mid-range Frontier, trading the XE's basic four-cylinder for a much stronger V6 and more standard equipment. Its 4.0L I6 makes 265 horsepower and 284 lb-ft of torque, and the five-speed automatic shifts smoothly; expect 16 mpg combined in mixed driving.
