Miles Overview
The 2019 Altima is Nissan's midsize sedan, offered in six trims from the S to the Platinum, with front- or all-wheel drive. It squares off against the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, and Mazda6 in the family-sedan segment. The standard 2.5-liter four-cylinder delivers adequate acceleration, but the Altima's real strength is its composed, predictable handling. Inside, the Altima features the brand's famously comfortable zero-gravity seats and a roomy rear seat that easily fits adults. Available tech includes a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, plus Nissan's Safety Shield 360 suite of driver aids. Stepping up to the SR from the S adds sporty touches like paddle shifters, a sport-tuned suspension, and larger wheels for a sharper look and feel. The 2.5L I4 makes 188 horsepower and routes power through a automatic transmission to all four wheels, returning 29 mpg combined in mixed driving. The SR's sport-tuned suspension firms up the ride noticeably, so expect a bit more road feel than the base S in exchange for flatter cornering.
