Miles Overview
The Altima is Nissan's midsize sedan, slotting between the Sentra and Maxima with a focus on comfort and value. It competes with the Honda Accord, Toyota Camry, and Hyundai Sonata in the crowded family-sedan segment. The Altima's steering is responsive and its chassis feels composed, making it genuinely enjoyable on a winding road. The ride is smooth and well controlled, absorbing most bumps without harshness, though the cabin lets in some road noise at highway speeds. The cabin offers comfortable seats and a straightforward layout, with rear legroom that fits two adults easily. The SR is the sporty choice in the Altima lineup, trading some of the SV's available AWD for a firmer suspension and sharper looks. Its 2.5L I4 makes 188 horsepower and pairs with a CVT and paddle shifters, delivering 30 mpg combined while feeling responsive around town. The sport-tuned suspension and 19-inch wheels give it a planted feel in corners, though the ride is noticeably firmer than the SV's.
