Miles Overview
The Altima is Nissan's mid-size sedan and coupe, a common pick for commuters who want something sportier than the Camry. The Altima's continuously variable transmission is smooth and responsive, making it feel quicker than its power figures suggest. The ride is smooth and composed on the highway, though the steering feels a bit loose at higher speeds. The trunk is generous, and the rear seats fold down for extra cargo room, though only one side folds on some models. Stepping up to the SR from the S swaps the 2.5-liter four for the 3.5L V6, and adds sport-tuned suspension and larger wheels. The 3.5L I6 makes 255 horsepower and pairs with a automatic transmission and front-wheel drive, giving this coupe real punch off the line. The SR coupe has a firmer ride than the sedan, which is the trade-off for its sharper handling and tighter body control.
