Miles Overview
The 2016 LEAF is Nissan's all-electric hatchback, built for daily commutes and errands around town. It's quiet and responsive at city speeds, though highway passing takes some planning. The hatchback body gives you a roomy cabin and a surprising amount of cargo space with the rear seats folded. The 2016 LEAF is the base trim, giving you Nissan's electric powertrain and a well-equipped cabin without the extras of the SV or SL. Its electric motor makes 107 horsepower and 187 lb-ft of torque, which feels peppy off the line for city driving, though the roughly 84-mile range means you'll charge nightly. The LEAF comes standard with a 3.6 kW onboard charger, but stepping up to the SV or SL adds a faster 6.6 kW unit for quicker home charging.
