2018 Nissan Altima 2.5 SR

The 2018 Altima is a midsize sedan that squares off against the Camry, Accord, and Mazda6, offering a comfortable, efficient take on the family car. The Altima's steering is light and its ride is smooth, making it an easy car to live with, though it lacks the sharp handling of some rivals. Inside, the cabin is roomy and the seats are notably comfortable, with generous legroom for rear passengers and a trunk that swallows luggage easily. Standard tech includes a rearview camera and Bluetooth, while available features add blind-spot monitoring and a touchscreen infotainment system. Stepping up to the SR brings the sport-tuned suspension and 18-inch alloy wheels over the 2.5 S, plus fog lights and a rear spoiler for a sharper look. The 2.5L I4 pairs with a CVT and paddle shifters simulating seven gears, returning 30 mpg combined in everyday driving. The SR's firmer dampers and thicker stabilizer bars tighten cornering noticeably, though the ride is a bit stiffer than the standard Altima's.
