Miles Overview
The 2016 Altima is Nissan's mid-size sedan, the one shoppers often cross-shop with the Toyota Camry and Honda Accord. It's a smooth, easy cruiser that soaks up highway miles without fuss, though it's not the quickest or most engaging in its class. The cabin is roomy and the seats are genuinely comfortable, with a trunk that swallows luggage for a family trip. A few owners mention early recalls and an occasional transmission hiccup, but most report trouble-free miles. The 2.5 S is the base Altima, so you skip the SV and SL’s upgraded audio and power seats, but you still get the same smooth engine and comfortable ride. Its 2.5L I4 pairs with a CVT that keeps the revs low on the highway, earning 31 mpg combined in real-world driving.
