2023 Nissan Maxima Platinum

The Maxima is Nissan's full-size sedan, the one that sits above the Altima and aims for a sportier feel than the typical family hauler. It's a front-drive sedan that handles with more enthusiasm than you'd expect, and the steering is quick and direct. The cabin is roomy for four adults, and the front seats are among the most comfortable in any sedan. Stepping up to the Platinum from the SV adds leather upholstery, heated rear seats, and a Bose audio system, all for a more upscale feel. The 3.5L V6 makes 300 horsepower, and the CVT keeps it in its powerband without shift lag, though you'll hear the engine hold a steady note under hard throttle. The Platinum's exclusive interior package includes diamond-stitched leather and open-pore wood trim, giving the cabin a luxury-car look that the SV and SR don't offer.
