Miles Overview
The CJ-7 is the classic open-top Jeep, the one that started the whole Wrangler line that followed. It's a simple, honest machine that's easy to drive around town, though it gets twitchy above 65 mph on the highway. The cabin is basic and the soft top flaps loudly, but the heater works well and the removable top is perfect for summer. Rust is the big enemy here, especially on the body and windshield frame, so check those areas carefully. The Base trim is the no-frills CJ-7 for purists who want a blank canvas, while the STD adds a few more comfort items. Its 4.2L I6 paired with a manual transmission and four-wheel drive gives you reliable low-end torque for crawling trails, though highway passing takes planning.
