Miles Overview
The CJ-7 is the classic Jeep that defined the open-air off-roader long before the Wrangler name existed. Owners love how easy it is to work on, with simple mechanicals and cheap parts that make field repairs straightforward. Expect no locks, no air conditioning, and a top-heavy feel that demands respect on wet roads and at highway speeds. The Base is the entry-level CJ-7, sitting below the STD trim, and it gives you the essential Jeep experience without any frills. It comes with a 4.2L I6 and a manual transmission sending power to four-wheel drive, which is a proven setup for crawling over rocks and trails. The Base trim skips creature comforts like carpet and a soft top, so expect a raw, open-air ride that's all about capability over comfort.
