Miles Overview
The 2008 Grand Cherokee is Jeep's mid-size SUV, the one that splits the difference between the compact Liberty and the three-row Commander. On pavement it feels planted and confident, with a ride that's more settled than you'd expect from a body-on-frame truck. Inside, the cabin is straightforward and roomy up front, though rear legroom is tighter than some rivals. Cargo space is decent for the class, and the tailgate opens wide for easy loading of gear. The SRT8 trades the standard Grand Cherokee's off-road hardware for a track-tuned suspension, big brakes, and a 6.1L V8 that the Limited and Overland don't get. That 425 horsepower V8 and four-wheel drive launch it hard, but you'll pay at the pump with 12 mpg combined. The SRT8's unique exhaust note and firmer ride are the trade-off for its sports-car-like handling in a four-door SUV.
