Miles Overview
The Commander is Jeep's seven-passenger SUV, a boxy alternative to the Grand Cherokee for families who need three rows. It feels stable and planted on the highway, though the ride is on the firm side and gets noisy at speed. The cabin is roomy up front, but the third row is tight and hard to reach, and the second-row seats sit upright. Some owners report transmission issues and electrical gremlins, like the shifter losing connection, so a thorough check is wise. The Limited is the top trim, stepping up from the Base with a more powerful 5.7L V8 and extra comfort features. The 5.7L V8 makes 235 horsepower and pairs with five-speed automatic and four-wheel drive, giving it strong towing ability but 15 mpg combined fuel economy.
