Miles Overview
The Grand Cherokee is Jeep's midsize SUV, the one that blends everyday comfort with serious off-road capability. On the road it feels solid and planted, with a ride that's comfortable for long trips, though it leans a bit in corners. Inside, you get a roomy cabin with straightforward controls and a cargo area that's practical for family duty. Running costs are typical for a body-on-frame SUV, so plan for regular maintenance and fuel stops. The Limited is the top trim for 2005, so you get the most equipment and the optional 5.7L V8 without stepping up to a more expensive model. With the 5.7L V8 and five-speed automatic, the Limited has plenty of torque for towing or trail driving, though you'll see 15 mpg combined around town. The Limited's Quadra-Drive II system gives you a locking rear differential and hill-descent control, making it more capable off-road than the Laredo.
