Miles Overview
This Wrangler is the classic open-air off-roader, the one that started the whole wave of boxy SUVs you see today. It's a blast to drive with the top down, and its short wheelbase lets you squeeze into tight trails and parking spots alike. Expect a firm, truck-like ride and plenty of wind noise, especially with the soft top on, but that's part of the charm. The back seat is tight and the cargo area is small, so plan on folding the rear seat or taking the doors off when you need more room. The X trim gives you the 4.0L inline-six and a manual transmission as standard, skipping the Sport's fancier interior touches to keep the price down. Its 4.0L I6 makes 190 horsepower and 235 lb-ft of torque, enough to pull you up steep rocks without breaking a sweat, though the five-speed automatic is optional here. You can option the X with a Dana 44 rear axle, which is the stronger choice if you plan on bigger tires or heavier off-roading later.
