Miles Overview
The 2004 Wrangler is Jeep's classic off-roader, offered in several trims from the basic SE to the trail-ready Rubicon. It's happiest off the pavement, where its short wheelbase and solid axles make it a genuine trail machine. Inside, it's basic and tight, but the removable top and doors give you an open-air experience no other SUV matches. Owners report that these Wranglers are dependable and easy to work on, though some mention minor issues like leaky soft tops and radiator problems. The SE is the base Wrangler, sitting below the X, Unlimited, and Rubicon, so you get the essentials without the extras. Its 2.4L I4 makes 147 horsepower and 165 lb-ft of torque, paired with a four-speed manual and four-wheel drive, which is enough for light trails but feels underpowered on the highway. You get the classic two-door layout with two seats and a removable top, and at 3,235 pounds it's the lightest Wrangler, so it's nimble off-road but tight inside.
