Miles Overview
The XT5 is Cadillac's midsize two-row SUV, the one you cross-shop with the Lexus RX and Acura MDX. It drives with a calm, planted feel that suits daily commuting, and the steering is light but accurate. The ride is smooth and absorbent on most roads, though the Sport trim's firmer suspension is noticeable over sharp bumps. The cabin is quiet and trimmed in soft materials, and the rear seat slides to free up cargo space when you need it. The 3.6L V6 makes 310 horsepower and pairs with a nine-speed automatic, giving the XT5 a strong, linear pull that the base four-cylinder can't match; expect 20 mpg combined in mixed driving. Only the Sport gets the continuously variable damping system, which firms up the ride in corners but keeps it comfortable on the highway.
