Miles Overview
The Savana 3500 is GMC's heavy-duty full-size van, the workhorse choice when you need serious payload and towing capacity. It drives like the truck-based van it is, with a firm, truck-like ride and steering that's direct if not exactly nimble. The extended-body version offers a huge cargo bay, and the tall roof and wide rear doors make loading bulky items easy. Savana vans have a reputation for durability, and the simple, proven powertrain is easy to maintain over high mileages. The LS Extended is the base Savana 3500, so you get the standard steel wheels and vinyl floor covering that make it easy to hose out after a workday. Its 4.3L V6 makes 276 horsepower and 298 lb-ft of torque, routed through a eight-speed automatic to the rear wheels, which is enough grunt for daily hauling but not quick off the line.
